About Kingston UCC
The Mission Statement of the Kingston Congregational Church is very simple: “Following Jesus, we will LOVE FIRST. Love God, love people, love the world.”
The Mission Statement of the Kingston Congregational Church is very simple: “Following Jesus, we will LOVE FIRST. Love God, love people, love the world.”
We believe that as followers of Jesus we are called to put love first in all things. While the realities of ministering together in a complex world will always require prayer, discussion and discernment―and even disagreement at times―we strive to make love our first priority. This means constantly asking ourselves and our world, “What does loving first require of us here and now?”
We are a member congregation of the United Church of Christ (UCC), a non-fundamentalist, Protestant denomination with a deep and historic commitment to inclusion and outreach. We invite and welcome those with divergent religious backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of life. We respect the freedom of conscience of all people. We are deeply committed to the Christian faith, but in place of a creed to which members must consent, we share a Statement of Faith. We practice an “Open Communion Table,” welcoming everyone to partake in the sacrament of Holy Communion (“the Eucharist”), whether they are believers, doubters, seekers, or questioning travelers in the Spirit.
Our staff brings decades of experience to the day-to-day operations of our church.
